The Presidents of the two most important pro independence social organizations (ANC and Omnium) and the Head of Catalan Police are today declaring at the Audiencia Nacional (a special and exceptional high court in Spain).
They are investigated for sedition.
- ANC and Omnium have been leading the social pro-independence peaceful demonstrations (where more than 1million people took part). During Catalan Referendum they have been always successfully promoting peaceful acts.
- Mr. Trapero (head of the Catalan Police) is being investigated for their "blatant inaction" during the assault to Polling Stations where more than 800 peaceful people were injured by Guardia Civil and Spanish Police.
ANC was founded in 2011 and it has 40.000 members and 39.000 volunteers.
Omnium is an historical organization founded in the 60s to promote Catalan culture and language. It has 68.000 members.
"Mossos d'Esquadra" are the autonomous police force of Catalonia, largely replacing the Guardia Civil of other regions of Spain. Their responsibilities are on public safety, public order, administrative policing and criminal investigation.
For this investigation "Guardia Civil", the military Spanish Police that took part on the violent events on 1-Oct against Catalan voters, has presented a report to the Spanish Court.
